The Center for Healthcare Studies at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University seeks a full-time, health economist faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This position requires demonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research and obtain peer-reviewed funding. Applicants must have a PhD in health economics, health services research, or a closely related field. The ideal candidate should have research interests and expertise in applied research in areas including, but not limited to, health economics, economic evaluation, and health policy analysis. The ideal candidate will be expected to develop an independent, externally-funded research program while collaborating with other departments and divisions, centers and institutes within the Feinberg School of Medicine, and across Northwestern University. The position also includes opportunity to teach in the Center's Master's program in Health Services and Outcomes Research and to mentor post-doctoral fellows in the Integrated Fellowship in Health Services and Outcomes Research.
The Center for Healthcare Studies is integral to the newly created Northwestern University Institute for Public Health and Medicine, and its mission is to be the home for health services and outcomes research by coordinating, originating, and promoting, inter-disciplinary, multi-departmental research and education for the purpose of improving safety, quality, equity, effectiveness and policy of healthcare.
